Kim Delaney was an American actress. She is most famous for her character, Detective Diane Russell, in the ABC show NYPD Blue. For this she won an Emmy Award. She has also starred in shows like All My Children Philly CSI: Miami, Army Wives and CSI: Miami. Delaney was the child of an executive at the United Auto Workers who was also the mother of her children. Delaney has four older brothers. When she was a kid, Delaney dreamed of being an official reporter for the court. She began modelling in high school and then gaining commercial opportunities when she relocated to New York. When she was a teenager her first appearance as an actor was on the 1980 soap opera All My Children. Delaney has appeared in a variety of films, television movies as well as dramas in the years since. Contrary to her career success, her personal one is not as successful and happy. The actress, who is skilled and gorgeous, has struggled with alcoholism prior to that. Her marriages have also ended in failure two times. The actress lost custody of her son in 2005.
