Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26th, 1991) better known by her professional title Ari Lennox is an American artist and singer hailing who hails from Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist affiliated with J. Cole's label Dreamville Records. In October 2016 Ari Lennox dropped her EP Pho. The EP was where she gained recognition. Shea Butter Baby her debut album was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox released her music online in 2012, when she dropped her the Five Finger Discount mixtape and Ariography EP in 2013. She continued to upload her music online in 2014, which included the self-released single Bound. On 21st of July 2015. Omen featured her on Elephant Eyes song"Sweat it Out.. J. Cole was interested by her talent and was looking to use it in conjunction with Rihanna. Her announcement to sign with Dreamville Records was made on the 8th of December. Backseat was her contribution for the Revenge of the Dreamers II album. On the 21st of October in 2016, her Pho EP was released. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening performance to J. Cole on his single Change in 2017, and appeared on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. She also appeared on the tracks Nothing but the Best by EarthGang as well as Icarus along with Bas, her labelmates. Ari Lennox debuted her first single from Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on 16 July 2018, which was released on July 16th, 2018. A music video later released in September. In November, she dropped two singles, forty Shades of Choke & Grampa. In November 2013 she released her debut album No One as well as Pedigree. The singer appeared alongside Cole in The Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby, on November 16and later she released the song as a solo single on her debut album. This track, which was released with a video uploaded to YouTube February 20, 2019 was watched more than 3 million times in the first seven days. The singer was a supporting artist for 6LACK on the From East Atlanta With Love Tour during December 2018.
